Have you already been to most popular destinations in Europe and are looking forward for something really special? The two magnificent MTB locations – Nauders/Reschen & Serfaus Fis Ladis offer ton of unique riding opportunities all lift-assisted. We will spend the first 2 days riding the best trails in Serfaus Fis Ladis and then head to Nauders the Reschen lake for another 3 more riding days enjoying the locations fully with also having an opportunity to relax a bit inbetween all the crazy riding.
Serfaus Fis Ladis
Similar to Paganella in Italy, this austrian bike destination is made up of three different towns all interconnected with lifts to the beautiful mountains all around. In Fis there’s a full fledged bike park with 9 trails ranging from green to black. The trails range between 300m to 2,5km so there’s a lot of fun here already. At the bottom next to the cable car there’s a great skill park with a progression of drops from small to big, which is ideal for dialing your dropping technique. There are also a few other interesting features like a whale tail as well as a large teetertotter. In terms of style this park is well balanced with fast flowy trails aimed at speed and air as well as natural trails, like Supernatural 1 & 2. Once again though the key attraction for us are the trails higher up in the mountains offering both riding fun as well as stunning views of the surrounding nature. There are 8 trails intertwined throughout the whole mountain range and connected by 7 different lifts. We will spend the first two days in Serfaus to get ourselves in shape on the relatively easier trails – only two black ones here, the rest are mostly red and blue. Thanks to the lifts there will be little pedaling up required and we will mostly go down.
Nauders & Reschen Pass
Probably our all-time 2nd favorite location in terms of mountain biking. 3 Länder Enduro or 3 country enduro is what this area is most know for as it is exactly at the meeting point of Austria, Switzerland and Italy and within a day you can do a fantastic ride through all of these countries. There are actually 4 different locations all more or less within riding distance so that you don’t have to take the car to do the transfer. On the Austrian side in Nauders there are two different lift stations. First there’s Mutzkopf with 3 different trails top to bottom, though the top’s and bottoms are named differently and you have optional endings, which will bring you back to the lift. Its a great place to start off or for a rest day as it’s very close to Nauders where we will be accommodated. In Bergkastel the second location there are only 2 separate trails, the same named trail going back down to the lift base and the other Plamort trail crossing to the italian side and connecting to the Bunker trail. We will pass by the bunkers, which it is named after as well as see remains of the border defense from WWII. The Bunker trail finishes with Etsch trail down in the beautiful town of Reschen. Exactly opposite there is the Schoeneben lift with a few more fun trails like Spin or Schoeneben. From here its only a stonethrow away from the last lift station here in Nauders/Reschen which is called Haideralm. Our most favorite trail in the entire area again with the same name is located here. This is a very technical, but very much fun trail that has gripped our MTB hearts by the collar and is dragging us back again this year.
To close up the 3 Country enduro tour we will return back to Nauders towards Martina and extend our trip for trails in Switzerland.
The whole trip offers more than enough trails for 4-5 days of riding. But if we would be up for it we can book one of the local guides who can take us with the shuttle for some backcountry out of the way tours, which are also amazing.
Both Serfaus Fis Ladis and Nauders/Reschen are relatively broad in terms of difficulty with many blue and red tracks and only a few black ones. This entire trip is therefore also suited to lower intermediate riders as we will be progressing gradually from the easier trails to the more difficult ones. Please be aware that although there will be smoother trails in the bike park and some in Nauders as well, the majority of riding will anyway happen on natural trails, which tend to be more demanding. On the other hand this is a great opportunity to level up your technique and get used to more difficult riding so that you can enjoy it even more. If you’re looking for a comparison then Saalbach in Austria or Malino Brdo in Slovakia are similar in terms of difficulty that awaits us here.
As part of the booking process we will contact you and check basic riding experience to ensure safety yourself and the whole group. Our goal is to set up a relatively balanced team of riders in order to maintain a healthy riding pace during the entire trip so that everyone is safe and has fun.
