Bielsko & Szczyrk are probably the most popular MTB areas in Poland not only for the locals, but for Slovaks and Czechs alike. Two amazing bike parks very close to each other (about half an hour) offer a lot of variety and fun on the trails. With about 3,5 hours by car from Bratislava and about 2 from Zilina, these two places are very accessible for us.
Szczyrk is a much younger destination, but gaining loads of popularity in the past two years. It offers basically two very long trails one more flow and air oriented and another great for technical natural riding with loads of roots, rocks all over. There’s also a short black diamond track, which is mostly for the experts out there, but provides an additional challenge when desired. At the middle station there’s small pump track and a skill park with very nice drops of various sizes great for practice. The lines for the lift here are not that long even when its really busy and there’s plenty of free parking right next to the cable car.
Bielsko-Biala is a very well established area with 15 official and a few unofficial trails offering trail fun even for multiple days and for all levels of riders. If you like natural riding then Bielsko is the ideal place as most of the trails are really a roots rocks reggae. Our favorites are DH+, Stary Zielony, Kamieniolom and Dziabar (arguably the most difficult track here) with many more great ones like Cygan, Sahara, Cyganka, Twister and others. The trail centre features a good sized pump track, a skill park with many skinnies, small drops and a teeter-totter. Zapiekanky is what you absolutely have to try while visiting Bielsko, or their home made burgers are also well-renowned. With multiple places to eat and drink you will never go hungry and the prices are the same if not cheaper than in Slovakia.
This is a 3 night 3 day riding trip with included guiding, lift tickets and accommodation, potentially also including transportation (if interested). We will ride as a group starting with the easier trails and building ourselves up to the more difficult ones. However if someone wants to change plans and enjoy some trails more times, or does not want to step up difficulty, they ride on their own and we can split up.
We know the park very well as this will be our 5th visit to Bielsko, so we can provide guidance and a briefing before every trail and stop at more difficult sections, show how to ride them and learn a thing or two from each other.
Difficulty
In Szczyrk there are only 5 trails, which are really only three, but two of them divided into upper and lower half accessible by a cable car and seat lift. Difficulty is Blue to Red, so intermediate to upper intermediate riding that can challenge you, depending on your ambition in terms of speed. Its a great place for one day and we will take enough time to get comfortable with the trails.
Bielsko has a wide range of trails from green ones up to black really difficult ones, however most features can be ridden around and are clearly visible so even a less advanced rider can check them out. This way you can get used to the terrain and gradually level up your riding. However you need to be prepared for many roots and stones in all but the flow trails (there are about 5 here).
If you’re not sure about your level of riding and the difficulty contact us and we’ll figure out whether the trip is a good fit for you.
