Weekend Trip 23-25.9.
Wexl & Semmering
Austria

230,00

Get to know the popular Austrian bike parks Wexl Trails and Semmering near Vienna in this two day and one night weekend bike trip just 1,5h hours from Bratislava. On saturday we will ride the Wexl trails and in the evening move to Semmering for drinks, dinner and a good nights sleep. On sunday we will wake up next to the trails in Semmering and kick the day off with breakfast and a morning coffee before dropping into the trails.

The price of the trip includes transportation in a 9-seater van with bicycles from Bratislava to Wexl & Semmering and back, so you don’t have to worry about anything and relax before and after riding. Of course, the package also includes exploring the individual trails under the guidance of a certified MTB guide together as a group first. Once done it will be open riding, either staying together or splitting up if someone wants to ride other trails than the group individually or in smaller groups according to skill level.

You can also just join us on the way there and then ride by yourself, if that suits you. Check out the Itinerary tab for a detailed program description or continue further to learn about the individual bike parks.

Wexl Trails

Wexl is a relatively young bike destinations, ideal for riders of all levels even for beginners who want to try riding in a Bike Park for the first time. The trails range from lowest difficulty green all the way up to the black downhill track, which is still relatively easy compared to black rated downhill trails elsewhere. At the same time, those who like to learn to jump, or already are flying high will enjoy one of the best Air Line trails far and wide. The devotees of technical riding can try their skill on the DH track, which is not too steep, but at speed provides a good challenge. In addition to the trails directly accessible from the lift, you can find multiple trails with a bit of pedalling uphill from the lift, though they are really worth it. If you want to add a scenic experience to the trip, then we can ride up all the way to the top of the highest peak Hochweschel. The climb is really worth it in terms of the views and the warm food in the hut on top, but the cherry on the cake is the all natural WU trail from the top in connection with one one of the bike park trails on the way down.

Semmering Bike Park

Semmering widely known for its Zauberberg for skiing and snowboarding in winter is also home to a very nice bike park only half an hour away from Wexl Trails. Very similar to Wexl trails Semmering is also one of the easier bike parks featuring mostly green and blue trails with a downhill track for those who like it more challenging. There are about 5 trails from top to bottom though you can choose what trail to take in the middle. The park features flow lines, air lines, a pure family-oriented trail and a gnarly, but not too steep Downhill track. A bonus in Semmering is that there’s a cabin lift, therefore you’ll be relatively warm even in colder autumn weather. That also means the trails are nice and long with more than 2km from the trail head all the way to the lifts station. We like Semmering because of its many northshore-style drops with nice wooden landings, which are great for building a good dropping technique.

Difficulty

Both bike parks have a variety of trails to offer in terms of difficulty so experts and even beginners will find good trails to ride. The plan is to go through all trails one by one starting from the easiest one and working our way toward the downhill trails. Of course if you are not comfortable with riding a more difficult trail with the group you’re free ride the trails you like by yourself or in a smaller group if others feel the same. However please be mindful that both locations are bike parks with relatively long trails and therefore do require a good level of physical fitness and strength. If you at any point feel like you need a break please do let us know and take the time you need to feel safe before continuing riding.
