Want to enjoy your MTB in a much more pleasant weather, with a nice view of the sea and on fun trails? Then join us for this 4 day bike vacation to Croatia where we will discover two beautiful riding locations fully shuttled and guided– Rabac and Groznjan in Istria on the north west of the country. Departure is on Thursday afternoon, arriving back at home on Sunday evening with only 1 day of vacation is required.
Our first destination is Rabac a riding paradise by the sea, with stunning views right from the trails, with 18 different tracks (including pump track and skill center) varying in terms of difficulty and length geared towards the beginners and lower intermediate riders (from green, to red difficulty), although the advanced and expert riders can let go off the brakes and blaze through.
Groznjan is a on the other side and to the north of the peninsula offering a more challenging riding experience with 6 trails of intermediate difficulty (blue & red) for which the trails in Rabac will prepare us well. It is also one of the main spots for the Slovenian SloEnduro race and has a very unique vibe both in terms of the riding and the country. The trails can also be shuttled so you won’t have to pedal that much.
The package price includes accommodation, transportation from Bratislava and back, shuttling and guiding for the duration of the trip by the Traildeer team.
Difficulty
Rabac is a great place for lower intermediate or even relative beginners to try out their skills on beautiful trails with the views of the sea all around in fantastic weather. All the trails are relatively easy fitting into the blue section with some more technical trails. There’s also a great pump track for skill training which we can take advantage of. Groznan is a very different location with a bit more difficult trails, which the first day in Rabac should prepare us for well. Here the trails are enduro-specific with red difficulty. In terms of fitness in Rabac we will be doing the pedalling ourselves, however as the trail heads aren’t located too high there’s not too much climbing we will have to do. In Groznan we will have a shuttle that will take us to the individual trails so that we can focus on riding down all the time.
Itinerary
Day 1
Thursday afternoon 3pm departure from Bratislava and a 6h drive (breaks included) to the beautiful historical coastal town of Rabac, where we will be accommodated for the duration of the trip.
Day 2
On Friday morning after breakfast we will start our riding directly at Rabac Bike Centre, where we will enjoy the trails the whole day with a good lunch in the middle. At the beginning we can have some fun on the pump track and skills area to warm ourselves up a bit before we board the van and start our riding. We will turn our bars down with some nice and easy with fast flow trails to start with, and progress steadily to the longer trails like Espresso with stunning views of the sea as well as to the gnarliest tracks like Babewatch, Highlander or Scorpion. Thanks to the shuttle there will be only little pedalling and we will ease into riding nicely. After the riding we will get delicious dinner and have some drinks by the sea.
Day 3
After the previous “warm-up” in Rabac the day before we will continue to increase the difficulty and fun factor on the trails. This time our we will load the van and trailer and head out to Grožnjan for a hearty day of riding in the western part of Istria for a full load of 7 enduro tracks. Every year the annual SloEnduro race is being held here so the trails are in prime shape! We will warm up on the 2-3 easier (blue) trail runs and then upgrade to the 4 red trails, all between 1,5-2km in length.
Day 4
On our final day, based on the preferences of the group, we can either enjoy a nice half a day on the beach or pack up our gear and say good bye to Croatia, shuttle over to Trnovec and enjoy the Trnduro tracks about an hour north of Rabac with its 6 enduro tracks (3 red and 3 black) before heading out for the trip home. We will grab lunch on the way and should arrive at home at around 8pm.

There are multiple bike shops here so most things can be bought or repaired also on-site, just make sure if you have something specific for your bike, that is not readily available in bike shops to take it with you. We will do our best to get any issues fixed ASAP so you can continue your ride.
Bike
As this is an Enduro MTB trip, please make sure your bike fits the category, a full suspension bike with at least 140mm front and back, ideally more.
Accommodation
We will specify accommodation closer to the date. However it will be 2-3 person rooms in an apartment or bed & breakfast on a standard comfort level, so that we get a good nights sleep, a hot shower and have space to put our things to dry. Our bikes will be stored safely for the night.
Guide/s
We will be guided and shuttled by guides from the Traildeer team. Also our Traildeer guides will organize all activities locally around accommodation, transportation and most importantly riding (communication with local guides, planning, scheduling, meeting points etc.).
Cancellation
Traildeer cancels
In case we need to cancel the trip for any reason we will refund the whole fee in full. We’re fully insured and financially covered so whatever happens, if we need to cancel a trip from our end, you will receive your money back.
Rider cancels short trip (0-3 days)
Please contact us ASAP if you need to cancel the trip for any reason. The following terms apply:
- up to 1 weeks before the trip 80% of your fee is refunded, we keep the reservation fee to cover costs of finding a replacement
- up to 2 days before the trip 50% of your fee is refunded to cover the costs of a vacant seat and potentially not finding a replacement
- less then 2 days before the trip we cannot refund any fees, as we already have incurred fixed costs with accommodation, guides and we will not be able to find a replacement
We will try our best to find a replacement and try to refund the most we can if you have to cancel, but please keep the above conditions in mind if we do not succeed.
